Game changer

It’s simple really. If you want more control over your coffee. Get this. Even taste, no premature drops, easy.

Flow control filter.

I love the flow control filter since it allows me to brew without any dripping. It does a good espresso shot that I can work with to create cream images on top of the cup.

Flow Control Cap ... why use anything else?

I use the Flow Control Cap all the time now. It allows me to use any grind, with metal and/or paper filter with excellent results.

Frequently Ask Questions

FAQs

How does the AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap work?

The AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap's valve doesn't open until users begin pressing. This creates a buildup of pressure that brews barista-worthy espresso-style coffee. The pressure-sensitive valve prevents drip-through so that users can extend their brew times and control their brew.

How do you clean the AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap?

You can clean the AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap with a quick rinse, or it can be cleaned in the top rack of the dishwasher.

What size filter do I use with my AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap?

You should use a Standard size AeroPress paper or metal filter with the AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap. It is not compatible with XL size AeroPress filters.

Does the AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap make real espresso?

The AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap makes an espresso-style concentrate that can be used in lattes, cappuccinos, and other espresso based drinks. While it is quite similar to espresso, it is not real espresso.

Where is the AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap made?

The AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap is designed in Silicon Valley and made in the USA.

Where is AeroPress Flow Control Cap manufactured?

AeroPress Flow Control Cap is manufactured in the USA. AeroPress was founded by inventor Alan Adler, who created the very first prototype in his garage in Palo Alto, California. While a significant portion of our product line continues to be manufactured in the United States, some products are manufactured overseas driven by consideration of materials, assembly, cost and order quantity thresholds. All AeroPress products continue to be conceived and designed in the USA.

How do I easily remove the paper filter from the AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap after brewing?

An easy way to remove the paper filter is to use the end of your stirrer to gently brush the paper filter off of the AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap. Once it has begun to peel away from the AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap, the paper filter will be easy to tap out into the trash.

Does the AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap work with all AeroPress models?

The AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap is compatible with AeroPress Original, Go, Clear, Premium, Steel and Go Plus (it is not compatible with AeroPress XL size coffee makers).

Do I need to use a filter with the AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap?

Yes, you must use a Standard size filter with the AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap. You can use an AeroPress Paper Micro-Filter, an AeroPress metal filter (either the AeroPress Stainless Steel Filter or the Gold Tone Super Fine Filter), or both at once to create a variety of delicious flavor profiles.

    Should Become Standard Equipment
Having used both the original filter cap and a "pressure" cap from a competing company over several years, I can say with no doubts that the Aeropress Flow Control Cap comes out miles ahead of either of those options. I feel as though it should really be a (discounted) upgrade option for every basic Aeropress package, if not standard equipment! You get the expected ease of workflow but, for those preferring "espresso-adjacent" brews, you get concentrated, crema-topped shots using a fraction of the physical effort that the competitor's pressure cap requires. You get excellent, varied results with either the metal or the paper filter discs and since I'm turning more to paper filtration for health reasons, relying on the competitor's metal filter disc is less attractive to me.

    Just what I needed
I didn't want to use the paper filters but really don't enjoy doing the inverted method when I am rushing in the morning... I've maybe had boiling coffee go everywhere when I was in a bit too much of a rush. Not fun. This little guy has solved all my problems, yummy coffee, can use with reusable mesh filter, no coffee spilling everywhere. The option to let it sit for longer with all the coffee is nice too, gives you flexibility.

Organic has changed the way we eat.
I used to struggle with finding healthy, tasty options for my kids, but now they actually look forward to snack time. The variety is fantastic, and I love that everything is free from artificial additives. Organic has become a staple in our home.
